I didn't even know there was hype around the team, I thought the hype was just around NBA Live development. What exactly are these high expectations that the team might not live up to? Because I think they're comfortably a lock for a middle of the road playoff seeding and may make it past the first round or even to the NBA Live 18 Coins depending on who they're facing.
We finished 6th facing huge injury problems. And the teams that finished 5th, 7th and 8th traded their stars and are expected to tank. Everyone has the Bucks as 5th or even 6th behind the Heat. The only hype is centered around Giannis.
I think even with IT missing more than half the season, and Rose and Wade having limitations, it's still LeBron in the East. And the East just lost multiple stars.
They'll have more facilitation when Bron sits (Rose, Wade, Love in a bigger role). And even coasting he put up mad numbers last year, and he improved all 4 years in Miami. Entering year 4 back in Cleveland.
And I just think last year's slide was an aberration. They rawdogged the East playoffs, it's their conference. Their issues are being overblown imo.
Dieng should be a good player off the bench, but Jamal was actually bad last year, and Shabazz is like Jeff Green levels of inconsistency.
Even on their best nights they'll be running a bench that is 2 guys deep, while most nights only one of their guys will be actually playable.
Idk, we have talent, and nobody is picking us to be a top 4 seed even. Most Wolves fans have us as a first round exit in the playoffs, and that's really not crazy.
Obviously there is a good chance we take awhile to figure out how our guys work together, but with 2 stars who are both easily top 5 at their positions + Wiggins, Teague, and a slightly better bench than last year it's more likely than not we make the playoffs.
